It would be nice to have a site where I could go and write in nebulous feelings, thoughts and ideas and then hit a button and the perfect word would appear.
Laughing here. I don't think so. As Bluecat quoted, ". . . the soul reaching for infinity . . ."
McKey is never satisfied with a performance. He hates to watch himself on TV. He's dyslexic, so rarely reads, but again I think, like our search for the "perfect" word, his performance is like reaching for that which is just beyond our grasp.
I have a nephew, a director and director of photography of experimental film, who finds language to be a barrier to what he is trying to, fleetingly, capture on the film.
I'm not sure about that. I love language but I guess everyone has a different way of " . . . reaching for infinity . . ."
I don’t usually make resolutions because I know I will not succeed. I always set them too high. This year is different though. I want to do something important. I want to raise money for a ‘No Kill Shelter’ here in my county. This shelter is where I learned about a lovely Pug Bitch(ha) that I almost tried to adopt, but emotionally knew I could not handle it. They need money to keep going. This is ‘one of my ideas’, just a thought and tell me if I am CRAZY or whatever(#1). I was thinking about selling or auctioning my Quilling projects to raise money for that shelter. I thought maybe Rio could put it out there on the blog to start with and see what kind of response it gets. What do you guys think?
I am not going to make any New Year's resolutions, hence, I will not disappointment myself when I don't keep them.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I hope to have a quieter year with less emergencies and more fun.
I hope that your hope comes true Melanie.
ReplyDeleteI don't make resolutions either. I've been trying to think of a word that describes my feeling about them but can't come up with one.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if we could be content with perfection.

Melanie: I wonder if your nephew should use music rather than words...or at least more music than words.
ReplyDeleteMelanie here. . . (downstairs computer)
ReplyDeleteHis last work was a collaboration of music, film, and dance. All original writings. Never saw it. Had sold out small house theater though in NYC.
He's hoping to tape it one day and then let me see it.
Bah! No New Year's resolutions. Actually, I do them all the time, telling myself stuff. Too much chatter, I say.

ReplyDeleteShelley: I think that it's a great idea. Your quilling projects are really beautiful.
